That slapping you can hear in the background is the sound of freshly caught Australian salmon landing on the beach here at Eagles Bay near Dunsborough in the South West corner of Western Australia.
I’ve got the sand between my toes, the sun is just peeping over the dunes behind me and I’m watching on as the commercial fishers use trucks to haul their teeming nets up the beach.
Beach salmon fishing is a tradition in this part of the world.
